USE ANOTHER MOVING COMPANY! We hired Keira Movers to move our belongings from NJ to California. Eddie was very helpful/friendly in the beginning, and offered a price much less than other movers, so we thought we were in good hands. When Danny and his moving team arrived, they were very polite, however they forgot all their packing supplies (bubble wrap, packing paper, etc) and still proceeded to charge us $100 for "packing supplies" which basically included tape and saran wrap. Also, BE SURE TO CHECK HIS INVENTORY LIST, he purposely leaves items off there so that they cannot be accounted for later on. Him and his crew STOLE a few of our valuable items even though we tipped them all VERY GENEROUSLY ($80pp). When we tried to reach out to him, Eddie or Gaby to get our missing items back, they refused to help us and stopped responding - very poor customer service once they received their money. The rest of our boxes came back looking like an elephant had sat on them, completely mishandled and broken. Also, the company states they will wrap up your mattress/box spring appropriately - what a joke. Our mattress arrived with half a layer of saran wrap, torn and super dirty. I would NOT recommend using Keira Movers to move anything you have of value!

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3500

I hired this company to move my belongings 14 miles away. They loaded my 72” mechanic’s toolbox and dropped it out of the back of the running truck while pulling forward in front of my house. Best part is I watched it happen from inside my house and caught it on my doorbell cam, and the movers didn’t tell me until I pointed out the damage while they were unloading the toolbox at the storage facility. I’ve called multiple times to make an insurance claim and haven’t received a response since the first call on November 9th . I’m still waiting for a call back!!!!

So let me start off by saying they saw a single mom and just figured oh well who cares! They wrecked alot of my furniture and then they threw away my damaged items or stole them without my approval. I now do not have my TVs and my desk which had my life in there, that was my fault for trusting people with my stuff but i was sooo tired of moving alone, I had no help. They vandalized the outside of my home and threw my underwear all over the lawn under the bushes. My sister and neighbor came over and said ummm I think your underwear are under the bushes. I was devastated. So they took my desk, TVS and the furniture they did deliver they wrecked and tried to cover it with the wood pencil or marker. And I have all the pics to back up what I am saying. I did file a complaint with the police and have contacted my lawyers. PLEASE DO NOT USE them, I don't want you to end up like how I did with no important documents my mom's possessions and she passed away two months ago today and i can never get that back again. I also did not receive alot of shoes expensive shoes. I am besides myself about this company and how they operate. I believe in KARMA and sooner or later doing this to people they won't have a company with Ghetto movers like they have. I did call customer service and she said call your homeowners insurance they will re imburse you why should I have to do that when my deductible is $1,000 that just defeats the purpose plus it will go up and under no fault of mine. BAD company all the way around. Sales, customer service and movers! NO GOOD!!!!! I am sorry I ever did business with them!

Very professional and customer focused from beginning to end. The owner, Gaby Mahalin, and his team at Start Moving take great pride in providing excellent customer service. You can tell that Gaby has many years of experience in the industry. We had some unique challenges, but Start Moving handled all of them as if they were routine. We've moved many times over the years, but Start Moving far exceeded our experience with any previous mover. I highly recommend Start Moving.

Service cost: $2500

The owner Gaby failed miserably to address damages caused by his employees when moving furniture out of the house we sold. The damages included a whole in the wall, scratches dent to the wall and wood floors. I spoke with Gaby on the day of the move, 8/29. We discussed getting the repairs done quickly for the new homeowners. Jose the lead mover said that day said they normally take care of some of the damages, but didn't have the time since they were running late. I was told to take pictures of the damage as Jose did not have the time. I did and forwarded them to Jose the next day as requested.

Gaby had asked that I also contact his claims department. After many calls and emails I was getting nowhere with claims. I finally got to speak with Margaret, Executive Director of Customer Care. I expressed to her I was very frustrated at the lack of urgency being shown concerning the damage done by the employees. Margaret kept correcting me during the call to the point I muttered out of frustration, “what a piece of work.” Well that was all it took for Margaret to unleash on me the customer. On a recorded line she began to threaten me by saying she has over 30 years of experience and do I know who I am talking to. She continues to threaten me (remember I am the client) with stating that she is the one that prioritizes the work and she can drag this claim out the full 90 days if she wanted. Well she made good on her threat.

As a side note I did apologize for my comment made during the call, however I never received any apology from Margaret. This is on a recorded line and I give them my permission to release the recording or transcript of the call to whomever would like to hear it to see I am telling the truth.

Now FOUR MONTHS went by with no updates from neither Gaby nor customer care other than paperwork to fill out. Numerous calls and emails were placed pleading, begging Gaby and customer care for updates with none received. In November the new homeowner’s lawyer threatened to sue me if the damages were not addressed in the amount of $6,300.00. I emailed Gaby numerous times once again begging, pleading to PLEASE respond, but they did not. On 11/23 a lawsuit was filed by the new homeowner against me. Gaby's claim’s department’s Executive Director of Customer Care Margaret finally responded only after I disputed the credit card charge I used to pay for the move. Gaby has not fulfilled his obligation to repair the damage caused by his employees after 4 months. I now was forced to hire a lawyer at a retainer cost of $2,000.00 because of Gaby not meeting his obligation to address this very sensitive matter in a timely fashion. If he cared about his customer he could have easily expedited this claim to help me, his customer, avoid litigation. Gaby chose not to.

Here is the response I received from Margaret. This is after I emailed and called over the past 4 months pleading and begging them to please expedite the repairs. Margaret writes using theses exact font sizes “Once our review is complete, WITHIN 90 DAYS OF RECEIPT OF YOUR CLAIM FORM, we will send you a written determination with any settlement offer approved.” She goes on to state she has until 01/12/2019 to respond. See, Margaret is true to her word, “she can drag this claim out the full 90 days if she wanted”.

It is very clear based on their actions that Keira Moving could care less about you the customer.

If I can select 0 star, I will. the WORST moving company ever!! STAY AWAY!! I moved from NJ to Indiana. When Adam came to my house, he was convincing with his sales pitch. Since this was my first long distance me, I was not familiar to the procedure. What he did not tell me was
- it takes 15-21 days to get my stuff.
- their insurance sucks!! .60 cents per lb
- they use another truck company to transport my stuff to Indiana
- they did not take good care of my stuff
- their workers are TOTALLY unprofessional - complaining the entire time
- my stuff were not professionally wrapped for protection
When my stuff arrived a few weeks later, many of the boxes were damaged. Many items missing. My antique dining table broke. My outdoor grill broke. My piano broke. In total, more close to $10000 broken and missing items. When I called for a claim, I was told their insurance covers .60 per pound. Basically for a dining room table that weighs about 30lbs, the insurance will pay $18! I am not able to use the table that I paid $5000 for. I was not aware that I needed to get additional insurance. Adam was USELESS and [EDIT]!

STAY AWAY!!

These guys were excellent! From start to finish, they were professional, courteous, and efficient. The estimate was very precise and they provided me with lots of helpful hints for packing and preparing for the move ahead of time. They arrived promptly the day of the move and the guys got right to work. Like a well-oiled machine, each mover had a job to do to prepare the items for moving and then packing up the truck. They had my house packed up in no time! Upon arrival at my new house, they unpacked and set up my furniture as requested. All the guys were polite, attentive, and very careful in handling my items. I would most definitely recommend Keira Moving- they made the task of moving a much easier and smoother transition.

Part 2 - KEIRA MOVING CONTINUES TO PROVE THAT THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGED BY MARGARET , EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF CUSOMER CARE. THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT WHAT THEY PUT ME AND MY FAMILY THROUGH FOR THE PAST YEAR!!
1 whole year later the owner Gaby continues to fail miserably as the business owner to get involved with Margaret to get this issue resolved.

When I finally got to speak with Margaret, Executive Director of Customer Care I expressed to her I was extremely frustrated at the lack of urgency being shown concerning the damage done by the employees. All this time Margaret wasted time with my family, Gaby and her staff for several hundred dollars in damage to my furniture seems pointless to me. Not to mention the money spent on both sides for litigation due to the POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE lead by Margaret, Executive Director of Customer Care. What a joke, no a NIGHTMARE that could have been very easily avoided with good customer service.
See, Margaret is true to her word, “she can drag this claim out.

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: $4900

The crew that arrived to load our items and immediately expressed their dismay about working. The one in charge, Jay was how he identified himself, his real name Danny, constantly saying how he wasn't supposed to be working and wanted to get home to his daughters. Once the truck was completely loaded we were told the cost was going to be $300 more than our original quote by our sales rep, Eddie. Specific items that were personal and sentimental items that we saw loaded on the truck never arrived upon delivery. Gabby was called about the missing items and one of 5 items reported were returned. We also had to incur the cost of renting a cargo van to retrieve items that were not delivered. China and crystal that was specifically pointed out as extremely important never made it onto the moving truck. The container these items were in was moved by the crew to the side of our house out of view. No apologies for these issues or the additional costs we were forced to incur plus 3 days of travel. Extremely disappointed in the items that were missing in the delivery and not at the house when we returned. These items had great sentimental value to us and nobody else. It makes no sense risking your business reputation making no effort to locate or return items of such great importance to your clients. This was our first major move and will be our last. If you do decide to hire Kiera Movers, take your own inventory of items when put on the moving truck and make sure all of them arrive at your new location.

I used Keira Moving on the recommendation of a friend. So glad I did! These guys were excellent-very courteous and professional. I was impressed with the efficiency of the whole move- from packing up and loading, transport and unloading at my new place. The entire move went smoothly. The owner, Gaby, was very nice- his estimate was accurate and he offered a lot of helpful advice about how to prepare for my move, which I really appreciated. I highly recommend Keira Moving!

Please read this review before hiring this company for you move. I did not read any reviews and took the word of the sales rep Mark Nxxx and my move was a disaster. I used Keira Movers for my move from New Jersey to Georgia and spoke to Mark on several occasions before the move. After the final invoice of the items I was moving was given 2 days before the move I was given a price of $1500. When the movers arrived the moving foreman Danny added $528 to the move without even looking at all the things invoiced to move saying that Mark was just the sales rep and he makes the final decision on price. Danny then told me that I had 5 minutes to make up my mind or he was leaving and not taking anything. I called Mark who said that Danny could not make such a request but as Danny was basing all his conversations on intimidation I reluctantly agreed to let him move my things. During the move Danny also mentioned that he should have brought his gun to this move although I knew this was not possible because New Jersey is a no carry state. This again was him using another form of intimidation during this move. Finally he requested a tip for him and his helpers and when I refused he walked out and I believe this is the reason some of my things were damaged upon arrival in Georgia. Bottom line I would NEVER recommend Keira Movers to anyone. Beware of this company and their wonderful sales pitch.

Highly recommend Keira Moving! We had a lot of furniture needing to be moved (including very heavy pieces) and Daniel and Juan (referred to as A Squad) took care of all of it! They showed up on time, got to work right away, and did not damage any furniture or anything in the house. They were both quick, efficient, and extremely polite. I cannot speak highly enough about this crew and this company, and I will definitely be using Keira Moving again for future moving needs!

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $740

. We gave an itemized list going room by room regarding the items we were moving(on the phone, they didn't offer an estimator to come out I guessed because of the pandemic). I was very clear with that our old unit was on the second floor up 1 flight of stairs. I also explained to Brandon that the new complex would reserve the elevator and parking spots for us for a 3 hour time period (those hours were sent to Brandon where HE chose the 12m-3pm slot).

Movers arrived at 10am and right way the foreman wasted an hour of time telling us this was not the move he was expecting and telling me over and over they were going to charge me much more than the contract before even walking around the apartment or even putting 1 single box on the truck. This foreman also called Brandon and told him several lies. 1. we had heavy glass furniture. Not true..not 1 piece of furniture was glass or had glass attached. 2. We weren't packed. We were & I have pictures. Anything not packed was not for them to move. 3. We had bigger/heavier furniture than listed. Again not true. In fact the list contained several items that right before the move we either sold or just decided not to take with us.

We moved last year so are pretty aware of certain things when moving (like time estimates are estimates it could be higher or lower..case in point my move last year the estimate was 4 hours they did it in 3.5 hours, some supplies are extra like mattress bags, tape, you are responsible for parking permits, etc.). When The foreman arrived, he claimed Brandon did not tell him there were stairs and in fact he seemed mad at me for not knowing it would be 100 steps from our apartment to the truck. No one asked me to specifically count the number of steps. The whole time the foreman is telling me I'm the one moving so I should know all this (about the extra charge for walking long distance, the fact that they also charge extra for stairs, according to Brandon it's between 85-95 per flight but the foreman said 75 yet the contract has no price and it refers to "undisclosed information" about parking, stairs etc which I very much disclosed, same as last year when we moved).

We reserved 2 parking spots at our old apartment closest to our apartment door but the movers didn't want to park there, they wanted to park further away of course telling us that would add time to our move. Brandon also told me Blankets and tape are included but the movers said it was not so it would be extra. I called Brandon and originally he was trying to tell me they weren't included but when I reminded him that I had an email confirmation he agreed it was included. He also told me I would not be charged for the hour the movers didn't work and just sat in the van while we had to call Brandon and try to figure out why the movers were being so aggressive and rude.

Of course they missed the time window of when we could use the elevator at the new complex but fortunately the PM there felt bad for us and let us use the elevator for half an hour after our time. Overall this was a very bad experience for us.

Now they do have positive reviews so your experience could be great, the 2 other movers with this foreman were great. If you do want to take the chance though PLEASE get everything in writing. Get your contract and confirm it all in email. Ask for the hidden charges like how much for walking, using stairs, taking furniture apart, putting furniture together. etc. If your contract says it's included again email and get it in concrete writing. We took apart and put everything together even though our contract said it was an included service but again the foreman will and/or will not do what he wants (all while saying Brandon is just the sales guy it's up to him what happens during the move).

I wish I could saythe company did reach out to at least apologize and try to make things right but they did not.

DO NOT USE this company if you plan on having all your valuables safely moved to a new location!! We used this company months back to move our house belongings into storage. Once we unpacked from storage we have come to find out that our brand new 4K tv and snow blower have been stolen!!! We should of suspected something earlier since after they were done with moving us into storage, they left without even telling us and with both doors of the storage units wide open!!! We called management to complain about this and we simply got a “we need proof that they stole it” in order to get your money back. It was not enough that we had it listed as an item to move and an item that never made it to storage!! We literally needed to show video of them stealing our belongings!!! Please PLEASE take this as a warning of the company. It is tough times out there right now, no one needs to worry about this extra layer of stress like we did.

Mr.Gaby Mahalin, the owner, and Eddie are true professionals. Keep me up to date about move calling many times. Movers showed up on time with two trucks and all the tools needed to move my household out of state. They were very careful with all of my items and they are obviously are very experienced with how to load and unload. The movers covered all the disassembled all furniture and packed it with cardboard and shrink taps. The furniture was stored in the storage. Highly recommend!!! Donâ t shop around... youâ re good with these guys!!!

We moved to with this company, and it was a long move. They showed up on time, worked hard. The truck was loaded in just a handful of hours. We had them stop at a local storage unit which was no problem for these movers. There was a slight increase in cost, but that was understandable and agreed upon before that was done. The movers did show up to drop everything off when they said they would. Thsi was one of the first times I ever hired a professional moving company, usually I would just rent the truck and do it on my own. But I'm very glad I hired these guys

We have moved several times in the past 3-4years and Keira Moving was absolutely the WORST movers I have worked with. The estimator, Eddie will literally quote any number to get your business. The gave me an estimate of $2800 based on moving my one bedroom. I paid the advance based on the quote. On the day of moving, AFTER everything was already loaded in the truck, they told us we would have to pay $6500 because we have “more stuff”. We lived in a one bedroom apartment(how much more stuff could one have in a standard one bed apartment and how can a seasoned movers’ estimate be off by more than double). Also another point to mention is they kept packing 1/3rd empty boxes, or put a suitcase in a box- I asked them several times why do they not put more stuff in. They kept saying it was to keep our things safe.

I called Eddie to clarify and he literally started screaming on the phone saying I should disturb him during work hours. We got a call from Eddie’s boss after that saying we could either pay the extra amount or pay for the labor and take our stuff off the truck. At that point, we had no other option but pay whatever they were asking. Then comes the moving part- We were told everything would arrive within 15 days; it took them 50 days. I kept calling them asking for an update, but obviously that didn’t help.

I would strongly recommend to stay away. I should have taken the bad reviews here seriously and gone with other movers. This is actually extortion in the guise of moving. It was a horrible experience for us and I would give negative stars if I could.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR LONG DISTANCE MOVING!!!!! I requested estimates from Eddie who was the initial contact at Keira movers. Great sales pitch and gave such a great estimate. I thought to good to be true so I requested a visual estimate. Gaby the owner came over to give estimate, my 1st estimate (over the phone with Eddie) was for 2600.60. The visual inspection came in at 3016.00. I thought still not bad. Needed to add a few things and spoke directly to Eddie to add those things. Day of move. Movers were good loaded all my stuff on truck and the binding estimate of 3016 went up to 4500. What?????? How is that possible? Of course at that point my furniture was loaded and what was I gonna do (as an elderly woman alone) I realized I was lied to and had no choice. So I paid. Good thing I had extra cash. Furniture came quickly. Day of arrival mover refused to unload until I paid. Without seeing any of my stuff. Which was not wrapped and on pallets as previously stated by Eddie. HAD TO PAY. This is what Eddie warned me about with other companies. What a joke. Most of my furniture was damaged, corners broken. Have yet to set up tvs so unsure if any damage to them. Of course I couldn't get in touch with anyone (they already had my money, so why return a call). I will contacting the FMCSA to discuss the "binding estimate" that was clearly not binding on Kieras part. I intend to contact every agency I can to warn others and inform of the sales tactics. I have no idea how there local moves are. DO NOT USE FOR LONG DISTANCE. THE SECOND LEG IS BID OUT and you have no idea who does it. I am happy to be in my new home but I was lied to which denied me a fair opportunity to obtain additional quotes. Very unhappy with this experience and kiera movers.

From the moment I spoke to the salesman I felt really comfortable despite the nasty things you hear about moving companies. The estimate that was given was accurate. The crew was extremely friendly and professional. They did an initial walk through and made sure everything that needed to be taken was wrapped with furniture blankets. Everything arrived in the same condition they found it. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I will be using this company for my long distance move coming next year. I highly recommend this company if you want a stress free move and zero surprises.

Unprofessional cursing blaming the customer scratching our hardwood floors blaming us for missing things. I can't say anything good about this company. I tried I tried to work with them when when they forgot a slew of items even after the sales person was swearing at us. I tried to call the district manager which current moving banned from talking to me. They charged $2000 more and did not tell me we were getting close to our yeah it's 2 hour estimated square footage but informed my friend who was the realtor that I wasn't going to like it that they were going to charge $2000 more instead of warning me so that I could remove some items. You are better off selling everything than dealing with these kind of moving companies. Always make sure you have extra insurance with this kind of unprofessional . He damaged a fifty inch They damaged a 50" screen TV but we're only gonna get 60 cents per pound so we will not get that replaced they yet they've forgotten shelves to refrigerator with your tempered glass which is expensive and they go by the pound so we will not get that replaced either which we were not told a told or explained which professionals should do because we don't move every day. They are in this business. The swearing and yelling and blaming , Is Total Totally unacceptable As with charging over $2000 more without an inventory. They also did not have an inventory of what we were taking which is why they also forgot several items and had to come back and they thought they were doing us a favor by coming back even though it was their mistake. I told the salesman it was because they did not have an inventory list in front of them but he did not want to hear it and kept yelling at me and blaming me and my husband. Extremely unprofessional and a total rip off.They also promote using cash so that they don't have to claim taxes which I have recorded.Be careful with any moving company but I doubt you can get much worse than this one.
